Into the Light I'm Running.

God has done a pretty good job of rocking my world that last couple of years, and specifically the last year. Time after time, around every corner something new is brought to my attention. Challenging relationships, college that brings a full workload, a job, a major car accident, moving into my first apartment (a.k.a becoming a REAL adult) and God making it evident that it was His way or no way. Recently at Cornerstone, our Sunday services studied the book of 1 John, a letter to God’s people that left no stone unturned in my life. The biggest thing that stood out from the entire series was the concept of walking in the light as opposed to the dark. I have had my fair share of blowups, mess-ups, trip-ups, and mistakes in my life. I have walked in the dark and pushed God away. Yet, 1 John 1:7 struck a cord: “But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from sin.” Wow. After anything and everything I have done, the blood of Jesus Christ washes away my sin. I can now walk in the light. :) “I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.” It’s a lot to live up to, but I would never want God to hold any lower of expectations for me. I owe Him my whole life. I want to be a shining light by way of the Word of God to those that surround me, those that have no access to the greatest gift, to those that are still living in darkness. I have been given an amazing gift and I definitely do not want to waste it. Christ has given me justification and I am on the path of learning to be a daughter, a sister, and follower of Christ. Christ changed my life, and I am changing my life for Christ. I want to be challenged, pushed, and changed to bring honor and glory to our Almighty God. I am running, into the arms of my Father, and into the light.
